About WMFC
My name is Dee Gage. I am a Ferret Lover. Sounds like AA, doesn't it? Sorry.
I brought ferrets into my life in July 1996 as a birthday present to myself. I've always had animals in my life and my cat had died after a long life with me. Ferrets were legal in Michigan and I had had them on the back of my mind since I saw an ad for ferrets in a little shopping paper in Dubuque, Iowa in 1979 (that was in another life). I bought Beau and Nilla from a woman in Allendale. Nilla was a Dark-eyed White female. Beau was a little runt silver boy. Nilla was definitely the Alpha & Beau was my little Jimmy Buffet.
I have shared my life with Hershey, Finnegan, Wile E. Coyote, Bear, Kody, Stone, Indy and my current three: Diamond, Coco & Buddha.
Who I Am...
The West Michigan Ferret Connection was established in October 2001. I have been able to re-home an average of 50 ferrets per year.
In addition to WMFC, I am also one of the Founders of the Midwest Ferret Fellowship, a Michigan based group dedicated to educating and promoting the domesticated ferret as a companion pet. Visit our website at www.midwestferretfellowship.org
